Head west of Albuquerque to [Petroglyph National Monument](https://www.visitalbuquerque.org/listing/petroglyph-national-monument-information-center/900/), where you can walk among ancient lava flows and see ancient drawings carved into the rocks. Don't skip the hiking trails- there are [lots of awesome hikes](https://www.alltrails.com/us/new-mexico/albuquerque) of diverse terrains and skill levels that you can tackle! To beat the heat, go early in the morning. Alternatively, cool down by trying [rafting or water sports](https://www.visitalbuquerque.org/things-to-do/outdoors/rafting-and-water-sports/)! ![meritt-thomas-2UsNF4Az-Ko-unsplash-1](https://www.enchantment.me/hs-fs/hubfs/meritt-thomas-2UsNF4Az-Ko-unsplash-1.jpg?width=4608&name=meritt-thomas-2UsNF4Az-Ko-unsplash-1.jpg) ### Attend a Festival Two fantastic festivals take place Memorial Day weekend- and they both celebrate local drinks! The [10th Annual ABQ Beer Week](https://www.enchantment.me/10th-annual-abq-beer-week) will officially kick off with the popular [Blues & Brews](http://www.abqbluesandbrews.com/) event on May 29, 2022. Come enjoy great beer and music! May 28-30, check out the [2022 New Mexico Wine Festival](https://www.enchantment.me/new-mexico-wine-festival-2022). "Sip" into summer at the biggest wine event in the state! ![sk-CK6tjAIMJWM-unsplash](https://www.enchantment.me/hs-fs/hubfs/sk-CK6tjAIMJWM-unsplash.jpg?width=6016&name=sk-CK6tjAIMJWM-unsplash.jpg) ### Grab a Burger  Memorial Day and burgers go hand-in-hand. Luckily, there's no shortage of tasty burgers in Albuquerque! Some locals swear by [Laguna Burger](https://thelagunaburger.com/), which serves their burgers with a New Mexican twist- green chiles! [Blake's Lotaburger](https://www.lotaburger.com/) is another New Mexican institution. This small local chain both fast and high-quality. For creative burgers, check out [Fork and Fig](https://www.forkfig.com/)!  What do you have planned for Memorial Day? Come to Albuquerque and partake in the fun!  ### POPULAR POSTS ### Recent Posts ### Posts by Topic - [Activities (111)](https://www.enchantment.me/tag/activities) - [Amusement (109)](https://www.enchantment.me/tag/amusement) - [Events (88)](https://www.enchantment.me/tag/events) - [Shopping and Dining (64)](https://www.enchantment.me/tag/shopping-and-dining) - [Around Town (49)](https://www.enchantment.me/tag/around-town) ![shutterstock_748098433](https://www.enchantment.me/hs-fs/hubfs/shutterstock_748098433.jpg?width=1920&name=shutterstock_748098433.jpg "shutterstock_748098433") 800-678-9999 Copyright © 2018 Resortia LLC [Privacy Policy](http://steamboat.net/privacy-policy)
