Taos is a terrific, underrated city in New Mexico. It has many draws- ski enthusiasts love it for its perfect alpine conditions, history enthusiasts love it for the ancient adobe complexes, and creatives love it for its long-running artist colony. It is great during any season, but it is an especially fun, unique escape during the winter! Here are some activities to enjoy in Taos if you're looking to savor the last bits of winter!

Ski

Taos is renown for its ski valley, which receives an astounding 300 feet of annual snowfall. The powder is perfect, right up until the end of ski season! Taos Ski Valley's closing date is April 4, 2022, so be sure to check it out before its too late.

Snowshoe

Want to enjoy the snow but not too keen on skiing? Try snowshoeing! It is an invigorating activity that gets you out in the cold without too much of an adrenaline rush! Taos has lots of great trails, which offer a reviving escape into the wintery wilderness. There are tours available for those who want a guide!

Ice Skate

Those who enjoy a whimsical ice skating excursion have two great rink options in Taos. At Taos Ski Valley, head to Eis Haus  for an alpine skating adventure. In town, you can head to Taos Youth and Family Center for affordable fun! 

Soak in the Hot Springs

Too much winter? Go warm up at one of the hot springs in Taos! Stagecoach Hot Springs is the most popular hot spring in the area. The water is quite warm and cozy, and it happens to be a historic spot! It is utterly enchanting.
