A significant portion of the film was shot in New Mexico, where much of the real-life drama unfolded. Los Alamos, the heart of the Manhattan Project, is a living museum of this pivotal moment in history. Several self-guided walking tours in Los Alamos allow you to retrace Oppenheimer's steps and experience the atmosphere of this once-secret scientific community. See the Fuller Lodge, where scientists gathered for lectures and socializing, and the Bradbury Science Museum, which offers a fascinating look at the history of the Manhattan Project.
